A Foreword from our Branch Chairman
Let´s get going with the Conservatives.
A warm welcome to the Irthlingborough Branch of the Conservative Party.
We are a branch of Corby and East Northamptonshire Conservatives.
I have always been interested in politics and fair play that is why I joined the police force in the late 1960´s after completing a Toolmakers Apprenticeship.
I have always been in business - that is why I currently hold licences to drive all vehicles, including buses, lorries and cars.
My businesses have been a Nursing Agency, Takeaways, Video Production Studio (for the production of training films) and an International Road Transport Consultancy.
From these businesses, and the world travel, I gained a great understanding in how organisations trade with each other and of people´s different viewpoints around the globe.
After retirement from the police, I moved to Northamptonshire, settling in Raunds for a few years and then to my current home in Great Addington, where I have lived for the past 10 years.
I have a passion for law and order and fair play.
I am constantly working towards a safer environment for us all, which the present government has destroyed.
I like to move forward, but retain old family values.
That is why I stood for District Council in Waterloo Ward, Irthlingborough - to make a stand for law and order and uphold moral values in the area.
With a police force that is at the bottom of the league for efficiency and performance, I would like to help get them into a higher position to make the area a nicer place to live.
The country is now in recession, although it took the government about six months to admit it, but we need to gain control of Parliament to correct the situation and - this will not happen overnight.
Our first and most important step in Corby and East Northamptonshire Conservatives is to get our PPC, Louise Bagshawe, into her rightful place in Parliament.
An Introduction from our Branch Deputy Chairman (Political)
Conservatives are a voice for change and hope.
I'm 45, married with an nine-year-old son and have lived in Higham Ferrers and Rushden since 1996 after moving from Northampton where I was born.
A full time job in the high technology industry takes me around the country and to places further afield.
Because I have always be fascinated by politics I joined the Conservative party in my mid twenties.
Soon afterwards, I became more actively involved in the party after an MP knocked on my door during the 1992 general election campaign.
Since then, I've helped in Northampton North, Wellingborough and Corby Conservative Associations, served as a local Councillor since 2003 and Vice Chairman of School Governors.
I first stood as a candidate in St Alban Ward for Northampton Borough Council in May 1995.
Whether you're interested in politics or just unhappy with the way our country is now run, I invite you to get involved with the Conservative Party and join us in working to change things for the better.
There is much to do so don't wait for someone else to take up the challenge on your behalf.
You can get in touch at either a local or regional level, our details are on the Contacts page of this web site.
We look forward to hearing from you soon.
